About — Tinne Van Loon

About Tinne

Tinne Van Loon is a Belgian/American documentary photographer based in Cairo focusing on social issues concerning Middle Eastern communities. Her work provides a greater context to the headlines, finding the everyday impact of political and social conflicts. She has a particular interest in daily life and women's issues.

Tinne is available for editorial and non-profit assignments.

Tinne is the founder of Everyday Egypt, a collective of 20+ photographers posting images of daily life in the country, often opposing the news headlines. She is also the co-director of The People's Girls, a documentary about sexual harassment in Egypt, released in early 2016.

She is a member of the Frontline Freelance Register and her Everyday Egypt photos are represented by Getty Images.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Tinne. She always communicated promptly and was able to think on her feet when things didn’t work out as planned on the day of the shoot.
